QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

Do I need a referral to see Dr Sherley?

To receive a rebate from Medicare you will need to have a valid referral. A referral from a GP to another specialist is valid for 12 months, a referral from a non-GP specialist to another is valid for 3 months.

What if I don't have Medicare access?

If you are not eligible for Medicare, for example if you are visiting from another country, you can still see Dr Sherley. You will need to pay the full fee and will not receive any money back from Medicare. It is possible that you may be eligible to receive some money from your travel or health insurer if you have one.
